San Diego Zoo’s Children’s Zoo
The San Diego Zoo???s Children???s Zoo has delighted children of all ages more than 50 years with opportunities for kids to get up close and personal with animals such as these meerkats. In addition to more than 20 species of kid-friendly animals on exhibit, there are 25 creatures ready for cuddling in the Petting Paddock, from pygmy goats to soft rabbits to wooly sheep. All exhibit animals appeal especially to kids with their bright colors, like the hyacinth macaw, or their really out-of-the-ordinary appearances, like the naked mole rat. This is also the place where folks can see a presentation with a pangolin, something they won???t see in any other U.S. Zoo, or they can visit the Spineless Marvels insect house. But, be ready for surprises because on any given day a red panda, fossa or miniature horse may just walk past you on leash!
